Who We Are

HBJ - is an independent wine and spirit merchant with offices in London and Ipswich. We have strong historical links to the 18th Century wine trade in Norwich.

History

Since 1994 we have enjoyed being part of the larger Hayman Distillers Group. Christopher Hayman, a direct descendant of James Burrough, the creator of Beefeater Gin, is our Chairman. Shares in HBJ are held by employees, family and friends of the Company.

About Us

HBJ ships wines and spirits from virtually every important region, with particular strengths in South Africa, Australasia and South America. The ‘Old World’ portfolio is also
comprehensive with France taking the lead position.We have had a long association with many significant producers exclusive to HBJ.The relationship with Hayman Ltd places HBJ
in the almost unique position of having its ‘own’ distillery, so that we can offer both wines
and spirits to our customers.

HBJ services both the ‘on’ and ‘off’ trades - we are proud to supply a wide range of hotels, restaurants and pubs (independents and groups) as well as regional wholesalers and specialists.We are also present on the national retail sector where we have developed specific retail brands for clients.

Our aim is to provide a wide range of quality products, backed by first class service and
delivered by a team of experienced, professional people.
