After 25 years, Southbrook Winery has evolved into Southbrook Vineyards. Nearly 30 hectares of organic grapes are being grown on a new site at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Southbrook is pursuing certification as Canada's first bio-dynamic vineyards.
Southbrook’s new domaine features a stunning LEED-certified building, (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design , a green building rating system wwwleedstandards.org) designed by Canadian architect Jack Diamond to “sit lightly on the land.” The 12,000 square foot complex, which will be complete in early 2008, will have the capacity to produce up to 10,000 cases of wine and will include a cellar of high quality oak barrels for aging wines.
Southbrook produces high-end, high quality, agreeable wines at a great value. The grape varieties grown were chosen to showcase the best of the terroir.
Southbrook wines have won hundreds of national and international awards, including ”Ontario Wine of the Year,”
Southbrook also makes Framboise, considered the best of its kind in the world, as well as other exceptional fruit wines including Blueberry and Cassis.
