Maison Joseph Drouhin is a family-controlled négociant and proprietor based in the heart of Burgundy, at Beaune. The four great-grand children of Joseph Drouhin - Philippe, Véronique, Laurent and Frédéric - are each fully involved in the day-to-day running of the company and its estates.
Joseph Drouhin purchased a wine company and gave it his own name in 1880. He began the process of acquiring vineyards with the purchase of the famous Clos des Mouches; this process continues and today the Drouhin Domaine covers some 72 hectares across the Côte d'Or, Chablis and Rully. There is also the 60 hectare Domaine Drouhin in Oregon, one of the leading estates of the Americas.
The style of Drouhin can be summarized in two words: finesse and elegance. Everything that is done in the vineyard or the wine cellar is done with deep respect for traditional ways and with an unshaken belief in the concept of terroir. Maison Joseph Drouhin is without doubt one of the great Burgundy producers.
