The 40 hectare vineyard is exceptionally well-placed on south-facing slopes around the town of Vallet 'the capital of Muscadet'. Only organic fertilisers are used in the vineyard, and other interventions are kept to a minimum. This and careful winemaking, results in a Muscadet of finesse and character.
Vines have been grown here for a very long time. The present owners, the Boullault family, acquired the estate in 1930; they can trace the names of all of its owners back to 1429. One of these was the Marquis de Rochechouart, a direct descendant of Madame de Montespan, mistress of Louis XIV 'The Sun King'.
