"Dampt's Chablis is a lesson in control, elegance and precision." Matthew Jukes writng about the 2005.
Vignerons for 150 years, the families of Daniel Dampt and his father-in-law Jean Defaix have merged their estates to form one domaine.
The domaine covers 26 hectares with 13ha in AC Chablis and 13ha in Chablis Premier Cru – there are vineyards in Vaillons, Fourchaume, Côte de Lechet, Les Lys and Beauroy.
New winemaking equipment including stainless steel vats has recently been installed at the cellars in Milly. Production is now about 150,000 bottles per annum.
Daniel Dampt vinifies and bottles only the production of his own vineyards, an important factor in the personality and individuality of the wines of the domaine.
