« Le vin est souvent le résultat d’une histoire d’amour. Pas étonnant qu’il suscite tant de passion.»
This estate in the South of France, north of Marseille, was founded in the 13th Century by the Knights Templar, a religious and military order arising from the Crusades (the word ‘Commanderie’ was often used for a house or estate of the Order).
The estate today results from restoration in the 1970s: the first modern vintage was in 1977. The 60 hectares grow Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Ugni Blanc.
The current owners are Christian and Maria Garin. Christian is President of a Mediterranean shipping company and a member of the Council of Administration of the port of Marseille.
