Merlot 50% and Malbec 50% specially selected from Trapiche's own vineyards in Cruz de Piedra and Altamira. The grapes are picked by hand and fermented in small, open vats. The wine is matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
Iscay means 'two' in the language of the Inca. The wine is conceived as a tribute to two cultures - the Inca, respectful of Mother Earth, and the European, which brought the cultivation of the vine; to two noble grape varieties; and to the two men chiefly responsible for Trapiche's fame, Marcelo Belmonte (Chief Viticulturist) and Daniel Pi (Chief Winemaker).
