BRAND or PRODUCT NAME Woodcutter's Shiraz

Shiraz 100% from dry-grown vines from the Barossa Valley. The grapes are hand-harvested, and after crushing are fermented in open-top fermenters. The wine is basket-pressed and matured in large, old oak vats for 12 months.
The name 'Woodcutter's' derives from the time Dave Powell, owner and winemaker, spent as a woodsman in the Torbreck Forest in north-eastern Scotland.

TASTING NOTE

Deep purple-red colour; ripe dark fruits on the nose, open, a hint of spice; the palate is succulent, ripe and concentrated with prune, cherry and pepper.
'This is the kind of red I liked to drink with a hearty meal after a hard day's work in the wood' says Dave Powell.
