Grenache 60%, Shiraz and Mataro 20% each from very old, dry-grown vines. The vines range in age from 40 to 150 years - the senior being probably the the oldest vines in production in the world. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented and matured entirely in stainless steel.
Juveniles is the name of a Parisian wine bar owned and run by Tim Johnston. Tim is passionate about the wines of the Rhône, a passion shared by Dave Powell. Tim persuaded Dave to make him a Rhône-style red wine first in 1999, and the result was Cuvée Juveniles. The label, very different from the other Torbreck wines, was designed by Tim's daughter Carolyn.

TASTING NOTE

Dark purple-red in colour.  Juveniles is fragrant, intense and concentrated in flavour with blackberry, earth and Asian spices. A sensuous texture and tremendous length make this wine refreshingly drinkable now, yet with it also has a structure that facilitates maturation in the cellar for many years.

AWARDS Wine Advocate October 2007 - 91 points
FOOD PAIRING The soft ripe fruit and silky texture make Juveniles an easy wine to enjoy on its own, in spite of the richness and concentration. However, these latter characteristics allow it also to match full-flavoured dishes.
