Shiraz 100% from old, dry-grown vines (between 80-110 years old, which makes these among the oldest vines in production in the world) from the north-western Barossa Valley. The hand-picked grapes are fermented in open-top vats, gently basket-pressed and the wine is matured for 24 months in French oak barrels, 30% new.
A 'factor' is the manager of a Highland estate - Dave Powell spent some time as a forestry worker in Torbreck Forest, north-east Scotland. The Factor is Dave's homage to the true Barossa Shiraz style.
