Montecillo Rioja Gran Reserva Seleccion Especial

Montecillo Rioja Gran Reserva Selección Especial is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes from vineyards in the Rioja Alta. The crushed grapes were fermented at 20°C after a maceration period of 32 days. After the malo-lactic fermentation, the wine was racked to French oak barricas (made at the Bodega) where it matured for 40 months. The 1985 was bottled in November 1989 and first released in 2002.

TASTING NOTE

Montecillo Gran Reserva Selección Especial has a deep brick-red colour, clear and brilliant. The bouquet is intense with red fruit, tobacco and spice aromas  - and with the complexity of long aging. The palate is smooth, medium-bodied, intense, mature but still fresh; red fruit and elegant oak are present. Very well balanced and with a long finish.
